Our Work

Developing Energy Resources for the Modern World

McGeown Associates applies expertise and business acumen to finding, evaluating, and developing projects to meet our clients’ economic and social goals.  We have developed a specialization in working with governments and utility leaders to align interests and build the next generation energy systems. We create practical strategies to blend conventional power with renewable resources, smart grids, energy storage, and energy efficiency to improve quality of life for all.

Working with the U.S. Army and Department of Energy we have developed expertise in power system development, leveraging innovative financing and government authorities for development of energy assets.  Our support for clean energy financing has helped governments create innovative programs to improve energy efficiency in buildings, increase use of renewable energy, and deploy fast acting natural gas generators.  We have been instrumental in the development of Utility and Energy Savings Performance Contracts to improve infrastructure and reduce energy costs.

We are particularly proud of our efforts that are encouraging new business models for utilities to ensure secure access to reliable sources of clean energy that are affordable for all citizens.  The growth of web enabled devices, new generation technology, and storage systems enable new utility services.  This expands the traditional utility role into helping customers enhance quality of life through electricity.  This will be key for the future of a clean energy economy.

Large Scale Renewable Energy Guide

We are proud to have helped the Department of Energy Federal Energy Management Program release a resource that provides best practices and other helpful guidance for federal agencies developing large-scale renewable energy projects.

Belize Utility Transformation

We have helped Belize Energy Services develop policies and strategies to leverage local resources, overcome local barriers and lay the framework for a regional implementation of an Integrated Utility Model for a Sustainable Future.
